What happens when a bulldog is retired from breeding or showing?
Does it deserve a sofa & family of its own or, as it is frowned upon by some that think 'moving on' a bulldog once its served its purpose means you're a bad bad person, does it deserve to stay in a kennel the rest of its life??
We believe every bulldog should have the chance of a decent retirement, they've given their love and their life so far to their owner, then why not give something back to them? Who is anyone to judge!
If a Breeder feels a dog would be far happier in a home getting masses of individual attention rather than spending its life between kennel/house on rotation or seperated because it no longer gets on with other individuals then they are to be applauded for putting their dogs needs first over the opinion of others.
Its unreasonable to think that every Breeder is going to keep every dog, some get rehomed quietly to friends but what happens when those type of homes run out? When there are no more good homes close by? Online adverts are an option of course but we'd like to offer an alternative. We get approached quite regularly by people in just these situations, Breeders that don't want to advertise the fact they have a dog to rehome but want to find a family to love it now its working life is over. Breeders that genuinely want whats best for their bulldog & we know first hand that a bulldog can walk into a new home and be settled within hours, like its been there all its life, no stress, no unhappiness just a new life to look forward to.
